Chair`s Letter: Dear Delegates, Welcome, delegates, to the ASP MUN 2024-2025 CRISIS COMMITTEE! It is with great enthusiasm and anticipation that I welcome you to this distinguished Model United Nations conference Crisis Committee. I am privileged to be your Chair and to moderate what is sure to be a dynamic, high-stakes, and intellectually demanding debate. The Crisis Committee is not just about policy debate; it is about thinking on your feet and adapting to ever-changing situations and making decisions under pressure. In this committee, you never know what is going to happen and your ability to think ahead, negotiate, and react quickly will be put to the test. You each play a crucial role in deciding what direction our debates go and your decisions will have actual impacts in our simulated world. As the Chair, I encourage every member to be as fully engaged as possible with this imaginative world that might become a reality. I implore you to come prepared, not only with good research but with creativity and flexibility. Fixed positions are not going to do it—only those who can move through difficult circumstances with wit and resolve will be effective. Diplomacy is key, but so is decisiveness. I look forward to professionalism and respect coupled with a commitment to making this committee interesting and dynamic. Challenge each other and yourself and above all, enjoy it. If you do have a question before the conference, by all means do not hesitate to get in touch. I look forward to seeing your strategic acumen and to see how you can navigate through this crisis. With warm regards, Bara Taweel Chair, CRISIS ASP MUN ‘25
